Invites you to the 4th Annual
Freedom Run,
Car Show, and Freedom Gala
“A Tribute to Our Military”
Saturday, August 25th, 2007
Please join us as we honor all who serve
our nation, past and present, and especially those who have paid the ultimate
price, in defense of our Freedom, as we raise funds for the Freedom Alliance
Scholarship Fund. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund provides vocational and
college scholarships for the surviving children of those who, while on active
duty in our nation’s military service, have lost their lives or been permanently
disabled. Please help us help those kids whose parents have given so much.
The 2007 Freedom Run & Liberty Mile consists of separate 5K, 10K and 1 mile fun
runs, staged at Byron/Discovery Bay. We expect 200 – 300 runners. Liberty Mile starts at 9:00; 5-K Freedom
Run starts at 9:30 AM. Race day registration is open between 7:30 and 8:45 AM;
however, registrations prior to August receive a $5 discount. See entry form at
this site, and also at FLEET FEET SPORTS, STOCKTON, and at www.active.com.
The 2007 Freedom Car Show will be staged at the Byron/Discovery as well, and will run concurrently with the running events,
culminating in a rally/parade through town to finish the event, establishing a
new tradition of a holiday classic and hot rod car parade through Discovery Bay.
200+ show cars are expected.
Car show staging starts at 7:30 AM. Spaces are filling fast!!!! Call the event
director!
Our event day opening ceremony will consist of military veteran honor guard, 21
gun salute to the fallen, and a precision sky diving team. Opening ceremony at
8:4 5 AM.
The 2007 Freedom Gala will be held at the Brentwood Veterans Hall. The evening
will include a gourmet dinner, live auction and dancing ‘til midnight to the
sounds of “Pride & Joy.” 250 tickets are available, and the Gala is expected to
be a sell-out. Tickets are now on sale at $75 each. Call 925-240-5278 for
reservations.
Special Guests of Honor: Members of the USMC 3/7 Kilo Company, and the selfless
heroism of 3/7 Kilo Company Corporal Jason Dunham, the subject of the book A
Gift of Valor.
Proceeds to benefit the
Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund
The Freedom Alliance provides college and vocational scholarships for the
surviving children of those parents who have been permanently disabled or killed
while on active duty in our military forces.
Corporate and individual sponsorships are vital to make this event a success. We
are soliciting corporate sponsorships for the event at this time!
We ask that all event and table sponsors also furnish a door prize or gift that
may be raffled. In return, you will be recognized at the events, on our shirts,
and in print. PLATINUM SPONSORS will be listed as organizing sponsors by key
positioning of logos on our event T-shirts and banners.
All sponsors may set up a booth at the run & show events early in the day, and
distribute any materials. You may have any size space you need, 10X10, 10X20,
etc. and you will need to furnish your own canopy (E-Z ups work best) as
desired. You may exhibit a vehicle in your booth with your company graphics.
Bring enough material for 500+ people. We can also place your items in each
participant’s goodie bag.
All event sponsors can have their name printed on our event T-shirts, and the
sponsor should furnish exact wording ASAP. We will be printing approximately 400
– 500 very cool event T-shirts.
